At Brown Bear Day Care
We are a provincially licensed child care centre providing a home-like environment for our children. Our program fees are set according to Ministry guidelines for child-teacher ratios.
A two-week childcare deposit is required upon enrolment and is calculated with the daily rate. This deposit is applied to your child’s last two weeks of care at Brown Bear.
A $20/day late fee will be charged for any payment received later than closing on the first of the month, as per the enrolment contract documents (please see these docs for details).

Brown Bear Day Care is proud to participate in the Canada-Wide Early Learning and Child Care (CWELCC) program, now offering CWELCC-reduced fees to our families. We will continue to adjust fees downwards as mandated by the Ministry of Education and regulated by the City of Ottawa, and all further reductions will be communicated with our families through our communication app and our newsletter.
Daily Routine
7:00 to 9:00 Free play, sensory bins, greeting children and parents
9:00 to 9:15 Bathroom routine
9:15 to 9:30 Morning snack
9:30 to 10:00 Creative arts
10:00 to10:30 Science, Nature and Dramatic play
10:30 to 11:15 Outdoor play (weather permitting)
11:15 to 11:30 Bathroom routine
11:30 to 12:00 Lunch time
12:00 to 12:30 Circle time
12:30 to 2:30 Rest time
2:30 to 3:00 Wake up cuddles and bathroom routine
3:00 to 3:15 Afternoon snack
3:15 to 4:30 Outdoor play (weather permitting)
4:30 to 6:00 Free play and home time

- Kindergarten & School Age children who start during the summer pay the full day rate of $36/day until the school year starts and then their pro-rated rate applies for the rest of their time with Brown Bear.
- Kindergarten & School Age fees include all scheduled non-school days. Snow Days are an extra $10 for any Snow Day used.
- Non-school day care for Before Or After School children are reserved on a first come/first served basis and the charge for the full day is $19.
